Forest St., Oconomowoc, WI 53066 414-405-2205 azuramemory.com Interactive displays attract students at MADE Career Fair PEWAUKEE — Almost 1,000 high school students from Waukesha County had the opportunity to learn about various com- panies in the manufactur- ing, automotive, design and engineering field at the MADE Career Fair at Waukesha County Techni- cal College on Oct. 14. The event, which was organized by the Wauke- sha County Business Alliance, paired 30 compa- nies from the county up with students primarily from high schools in Waukesha. "The diversity of employers here, promoting all the different types of career opportunities in the areas that they're in, it's awesome for the students to be exposed to this," said Michael Shiels, School of Applied Technologies dean at WCTC. "We're just really excited about the partnership that we have with the Wauke- sha County Business Alliance and all the high schools that are here. It's important to bring these students through while they're still in high school and expose them to the dif- ferent types of awesome career opportunities that are available to them." It's the second year WCTC and the business alliance have hosted the career fair. Presentations from companies and their representatives helped peak the interest of stu- dents, Shiels said. "All of the companies that are here have pretty interactive displays for the students to really promote what is being made in Waukesha," Shiels said. "It really helps them to broad- en their perspective about the different types of career opportunities in this area." — Chris Bucher, Freeman Staff Chris Bucher/Freeman Staff A group of students listens as Peter Schwabe of Peter Schwabe, Inc.
