By Miranda Mccrea Billy Evers is smiling from ear to ear aboard what he dubs "The Happiness Tour": a journey through what makes him happy. It's an adventure he shares with his friends and clients in his role as all-star events planner for Greater Boston and beyond. And what's not to be happy about? Since striking out solo several months ago after leaving his former post as creative director for Rafanelli Events, Evers, the founder of Billy Evers Creative, has designed and staged an adventure wedding in Los Angeles, a sinners-and-saints- themed birthday party, and a glamourama gala for the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. "It's been really extraordinary to truly express my own vision," says the 55-year-old Boston resident and Queens, New York, native. That vision includes oper- ating sans office and merging his professional and social spheres. Evers says he likes to connect with each client to form a "friendship of a lifetime" in an effort to better execute events to their needs. He cherishes the social aspect of his business, he adds, getting to know his clients personally rather than just professionally, and that that social component, coupled with Glitz and glamour: All-star events planner Billy Evers says the personalized touches in his events stem from the close relationships he establishes with clients. space surreal estate & Design
