or wildlife photographer Ray Yeager, when spring finally arrives along
Barnegat Bay, it comes as a welcome respite from the cold, dark, winter
months of trying to shoot the elusive Snowy Owl or shy migrating ducks.
The wildlife along the bay gets busy preparing their lairs and nests for the
new births that will accompany the change of seasons. Yeager says he loves
to photograph this amazing affirmation of life: from the osprey carefully
repairing their platform homes to the mute swans proudly showing off their
babies as they swim along the estuary behind his Toms River home.
As seen on these pages, Yeager's photography (and captions in his own
words) capture the unique personalities of the varied creatures that call
Barnegat Bay home.
