18 Red Bluff 2012 A variety of arts on offer A heritage rich in art and entertain- ment, the Depression era caused a downfall of the arts in Red Bluff. After a restoration of Red Bluff's historic State Theatre, the charming city is returning to its roots as a cultural center. The State Theatre, at 333 Oak St., serves as a venue for those wanting to hold their own events as well as those wishing to attend events that exemplify the best in motion picture history and the greatest talent the North State has to offer. The community, along with the help of some very dedicated resi- dents, has pulled together to restore and purchase the State Theatre. This is an ongoing process, but the venue is available in the meantime with special events scheduled throughout the year. The BareStage Theatre Company is a community performing arts orga- nization that serves Red Bluff, Tehama County and surrounding areas of Northern California. The company welcomes new arts and artists and produces plays and other live arts-related events at venues throughout the community. The Red Bluff Art Association and other supporters of the arts in Tehama County have implemented numerous workshops throughout the year and art walks during the sum- mer and fall throughout the city. Art shows and showings at established community events are plentiful. The Red Bluff Art Association is a 53-year-old association of local artists. Call 527-4810 or write RBAA, Box 944, Red Bluff, CA 96080 to learn more. The Tehama County Arts Council serves to promote visual and per- forming art and hosts the annual Art Walk in the fall.
