With a growing marketing business, the owners of Man- gold Creative felt it was time to expand into a larger space and they were drawn to the vacant Masonic Lodge at 126 N. Main St. this past spring. The sale closed Oct. 9 after the Man- golds received village approval for renovation work and made sure their financial ducks were in a row, business founder Heather Mangold said. She said the building is undergoing a complete over- haul. The interior furnishings and fixtures are a mix of items from the 1920s,1960s and 1970s. "There are going to be some elements that we are going to embrace," Mangold said, adding that their style tends to lean modern. "We are going to try and meld the new with the old items." Some of the older fixtures that Mangold loves are the moldings and hardwood floors discovered when the shag car- peting was removed. "The new stuff we are adding will complement the old history as well," she said. Mangold Creative has six employees, including the own- ers, in a 1,100-square-foot leased space in Waukesha. When the business moves into its new home in Pewaukee, there should be eight employ- ees, Mangold said. In the four years since she started the marketing busi- ness in her living room, Man- gold said, she has been blessed with growth. "The past four years have been really amazing," she said. Plenty of room on both levels The former lodge has nearly 3,000 square feet of office space on the upper level and a large multipurpose space on the lower level. "The beauty of the multi- purpose area is all of the options it has for Mangold Cre- ative, our clients, our col- leagues and the business com- munity at large — be it semi- nars, strategic planning meet- ings, business events, or photo video/studio space," Mike Mangold said in a statement. Area residents can tour the structure's interior via a video posted on Mangold Creative's website, http://mangoldcre- ative.com/building-renova- tion-tour. The building's exterior will get a fresh look, Heather Man- gold said, with the solid brick front being replaced by a bal- cony and 12-foot glass patio doors. The goal is to make the building appear less institu- tional and more welcoming, she said. Other existing win- dows will be replaced with energy-efficient versions. "I think you have to have a vision for it. We are excited about it," Heather Mangold said about the large project. "We are more 'hey, what could this be?'" "We're excited to see new ownership of a property that has sat vacant for several years, and are pleased that Mangold Creative will help in continuing to make the village of Pewaukee a fantastic place to work and live," Village Administrator Scott Gosse said in a statement. Construction on the build- ing should be complete in mid- 2015. mangoldcreative.com Mangold Creative breathes new life into vacant Masonic Temple Marketing firm has outgrown Waukesha location
