First Manning, was still the lead player in the drama. The man who would be Manning in Indianapolis -- who, in fact, replaced Manning and sent him packing to Denver -- had to visit the Mile High City himself and face the old master on national television Sunday night. Suffice it to say, age and experience was served. But it wasn't easy. After cruising to a 24-0 lead, the Broncos let Luck work his magic -- and based upon last season he's got lots of it -- before finally prevailing, 31-24. There wasn't a lot of magic in evidence in Week 1 of the POWER POINTS Football Contest as upsets rocked the competition and lowering scores across the board. But one light did shine far brighter than any other. Donna DiGiacomo, Butler, PA, tallied 117 of the possible 136 points to lead the pack and claim Grand Prize honors. She entered the contest through the Butler Eagle newspaper. Locally Bryan Giles, Milwaukee, failed to hit the century mark, but his 99 points were enough to take the local $50 prize and needs to call the Post's office to claim his winnings.
