Post Staff MILWAUKEE – The Bus User Safety at Southridge Coalition plans to conduct what it calls an Easter promenade on the north sidewalk outside of Southridge Shopping Mall in Greendale on Saturday, April 19. The group is unhappy that Indianapolis- based Simon Property Group, owner of Southridge, made a decision Nov. 1 to relo- cate the county's bus stop 1,000 feet away from the doors leading into the mall. A number of organizations have decried the measure, stating it puts seniors and per- sons with disabilities at an inconvenient disadvantage. Soon after the announcement was made, Milwaukee County Supervisor Pat Jursik was one of the most vocal opponents of the Simon's decision and has since spearhead- ed the B.U.S.S. Coalition. "The parade wants to remind Milwaukee shoppers that Milwaukee County residents hold dear to their values of caring for the elderly, physically impaired and disabled veterans," according a news release from Bill Zaferos, public information manager of the Milwaukee County Board. The coalition plans to start its walk at noon April 19 at the bus stop on the north side of the Southridge Shopping Mall park- ing lot and proceed down the sidewalk along West Edgerton Avenue, a release said. The event is scheduled to end before 2 p.m., Zaferos said in a release. The mem- bers of the coalition, along with elected leaders, will join the participants, the release added.
