Meadowmere sets event to benefit Wounded Warrior Project WEST ALLIS – Meadowmere will host a baseball theme event that will support with The Wounded Warrior Project from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Guests who visit Meadowmere from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. will get to meet the Milwaukee Brewers Famous Racing Sausages and anyone who stops by from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. can meet Bernie Brewer. All are invited to visit and have a ballpark lunch for $5, with all monies col- lected being donated to The Wounded Warrior Project. Guests can register to win gift certifi- cates to a Milwaukee Brewer home game and the opportunity to slide down Bernie Brewer's slide. "We are excited and privileged to be working with two great organizations," Meadowmere Executive Director Cori Parker said. "It is so important that we support our soldiers and their families. And we are all ready for spring and some Baseball." Tours of Meadowmere/Mitchell Manor will be available for anyone who it is inter- ested. Meadowmere is located at 2330 S. 54th St. Call 615-7100 for more information and to RSVP for the event. Church hosts roast pork loin dinner March 22 SOUTH MILWAUKEE – Sts. Peter and Paul National Polish Catholic Church will serve a roast pork loin dinner from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 22. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for chil- dren under 5. Reservations are appreciat- ed but all are welcome. Carryout dinners are available. The church is located at 1308 15th Ave., South Milwaukee. Daylily expert to give program March 23 at Boerner Botanical Gardens MILWAUKEE – The Daylily Society of Southeast Wisconsin will present daylily hybridizer Curt Hanson of Citronic Gardens at 1 p.m. March 23 in the Education Center at Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 Boerner Drive, Hales Corners. Christ Church UCC presents annual Chinese dinner March 22 MILWAUKEE – Christ Church UCC will hold a the fourth annual Chinese dinner March 22. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal will be served at 6 p.m. It will include appetizers, a sit-down dinner and Chinese cookies. The meal will be prepared by pro- fessional chef Peter Kwong. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for chil- dren ages 3 through 9. Children under 3 are free. Beer and wine will be served at an addi- tional cost. Proceeds go to the Christ Church General Fund.
