food journalist for more than 30 years. Her career
includes 14 years with the Marin Independent
Journal as well as stints with San Francisco
Weekly, The SF Bay Guardian, San Francisco
Magazine and many others. She is the co-author
of the "Toast for the Home Chef" cookbook with
Mike Garcia and Shahram Bijan.
KArEn PAVOnE
is an accomplished writer, blogger, and
photographer who lives with her family in
Novato, California. Her popular blog, Farminista's
Feast (www.faministasfeast.com), spotlights
sustainable agriculture and local food producers
in the beautiful North Bay.
PEnny POPKEn
is a freelance writer who spent 18 years as
features writer and food editor at the Marin IJ,
receiving a California Newspaper Publishers
Association award for a series she wrote on the
Marin Farmers Market. She's also written for
Sunset Magazine, the San Francisco Examiner
and Press Democrat.
nAnCy SAndS JOHnSOn
is a freelance writer specializing in fitness,
technology and the natural products industries.
A life-long tea drinker, Nancy is the proud owner
of several teapots collected by her mother in the
1970s, including one featuring a ceramic tree and
chipmunks calling for "tea for two."
JudITH M. WILSOn
is a Marin resident and finds the people and
places of the North Bay endlessly fascinating and
loves being able to tell their stories. Her track
record includes book publishing, several beats
as a newspaper reporter, magazine features and
stints as an editor. She is currently a freelance
writer.
