Cover stars like Harrison Ford, a passionate environmentalist, and Mandy Patinkin, an ardent supporter of education in the Middle East, each spoke eagerly of those causes at their respective cover parties. And the pages of the magazine shone a spotlight on local figures like NBA star Dwyane Wade, whose Wade's World Foundation is helping shelter inner-city Chicago children from violence, and Sister Rosemary Connelly of Misericordia, who has spent nearly 45 years assisting the developmentally disabled. Reading those stories, I'm resolved (and I hope you are too) to do more to help our fellow Chicagoans and make a difference in the community. Michigan Avenue's commitment to telling these stories is on full display in this, the last issue of 2013.
