Cover stars like Harrison Ford, a passionate environmentalist, and Mandy Patinkin, an ardent supporter of education in the Middle East, each spoke eagerly of those causes at their respective cover parties. Reading those stories, I'm resolved (and I hope you are too) to do more to help our fellow Chicagoans and make a difference in the community. Michigan Avenue's commitment to telling these stories is on full display in this, the last issue of 2013. Our fabulous cover gal, Dolton native Jane Lynch, shares her passionate Follow me on Twitter support of LGBT causes and @JP_Anderson and at animal rights. Philanthropist michiganavemag.com. Leslie Bluhm discusses Chicago Cares, the largest volunteer service organization in the Midwest, which she cofounded in 1991 and which makes it easy for Chicagoans to get involved with local nonprofits. And, turning inward, "Agents of Change" takes a close look at six experts who are doing good by helping Chicagoans look and feel better. My resolution for 2014? To do my part to make sure the next 12 months are even more inspiring for this city and everyone in it. Happy New Year Chicago!
