FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Toasting to 30 years of Moschino with creative director Rossella Jardini and menswear designer Bill Shapiro at the label's rollicking anniversary party at Ikram. Cover stars like Harrison Ford, a passionate environmentalist, and Mandy Patinkin, an ardent supporter of education in the Middle East, each spoke eagerly of those causes at their respective cover parties. And the pages of the magazine shone a spotlight on local figures like NBA star Dwyane Wade, whose Wade's World Foundation is helping shelter inner-city Chicago children from violence, and Sister Rosemary Connelly of Misericordia, who has spent nearly 45 years assisting the developmentally disabled. Reading those stories, I'm resolved (and I hope you are too) to do more to help our fellow Chicagoans and make a difference in the community. Michigan Avenue's commitment to telling these stories is on full display in this, the last issue of 2013. Our fabulous cover gal, Dolton native Jane Lynch, shares her passionate Follow me on Twitter support of LGBT causes and @JP_Anderson and at animal rights. Philanthropist Leslie Bluhm discusses Chicago Cares, the largest volunteer service organization in the Midwest, which she cofounded in 1991 and which makes it easy for Chicagoans to get involved with local nonprofits. And, turning inward, "Agents of Change" takes a close look at six experts who are doing good by helping Chicagoans look and feel better. My resolution for 2014? To do my part to make sure the next 12 months are even more inspiring for this city and everyone in it. Happy New Year Chicago!
