Jim Koury is a seeker of personal truth, and desires to empower oth- ers to find their own personal truth, whatever it may be. He is also an ac vist who is not afraid to speak his mind, and ruffle some feath- ers, if necessary. His main objec ve is to get people to think and think for themselves. He espouses Aristotle's mantra, "It is the mark of an educated mind to en- tertain a thought without accep ng it." Jim does not force his views on others but just puts them out there for folks to think about and discard if they wish. Welcome to the June issue of Diversity Rules Maga- zine! We are in the midst of a new Pride Month, with many many more challenges than I ever thought we would be facing in 2023. Sad, really. We WILL over- come our detractors. We have to. Never give up. Stay proud, and keep on figh ng, damn it! No mat- ter what. This month's feature is a pride-inspired one, and is about the debut of "Historical Homos" on Dekkoo. Dekkoo.com, a subscrip on streaming service dedi- cated to gay men, celebrates Pride month with an original series execu ve produced by Zachary Quinto. Historical Homos is a provoca ve and o en hysteri- cally funny guide to queer history. For thousands of years, world historians have kept some of the great- est names in civiliza on in the closet. Socrates, Vir- ginia Woolf, Michelangelo, and Shakespeare – they were all members of the rainbow tribe. In Historical Homos, hosts Bash and Donal Brophy uncover and unload the most tantalizing dish on some of these great queers of yesteryear. Did you know that Louis XIV's brother, Philippe, dressed up in drag and that Leonardo da Vinci was arrested for sodomy twice? Or that Eleanor Rykener, a 13th century trans sex worker, claimed in court records that her best clients were monks because they paid more? Directed by Brendan Patrick Hughes, wri en by Bash, produced by Idyllwild Pictures and execu ve produced by Em- rhys Cooper, Brian Sokel and Zachary Quinto, Histori- cal Homos premieres Friday June 9, on Dekkoo, with a new episode streaming every Friday through Pride month. The June issue includes a lot of other great stories and features, including our regular columnists. One of whom is Tony Guadagnino, who has done a Part 2 story about summer reading op ons. Check it out. There are also some great movie, and book summa- ries, that you will not want to miss. As we get into the month of June, while we have many challenges facing us, get out there and a end a pride celebra on or two, or three. Commune with those of like mind, and spirit. It does wonders for the soul. Hate will not win peeps. It just will not. We have lost some ba les, but we will ul mately win the war. See you in July! My Two Cents A Message From The Editor James R.
