A t Wynn resorts on either side of the globe, guests who wish to dine under the auspices of a symbol of good fortune will not be disappointed. Enormous crystal dragons curl above booths along the far walls of the main dining rooms at both Wazuzu at Encore Las Vegas and Wing Lei at Wynn Macau. Encore's dragon sprawls 27 feet across the wall; with its coiling head and curves included, its overall length equals 38 feet. Approximately 120,000 crystal "scales" cover its surface, while 86,000 pieces make up the translucent skin of its Macau counterpart. The dragons turn delectable meals at 66 Wazuzu and Wing Lei into unforgettable experiences. "Guests walk into the dining room with a sense of awe looking at the dragon elegantly hanging, and their senses are already piqued," says Valerie Yee, general manager of Wazuzu. "They are already expecting great things before they have reached the table." Creating unforgettable experiences is the unending goal for Steve Wynn and Roger Thomas, executive vice president of design and development for Wynn Resorts. Thomas's love for crystal can be found everywhere from Wynn Macau's Bar Cristal to the shimmering crystal peacocks in front of the Baccarat room at Encore Las Vegas.
