minous The lighting gradient, combined with the warm cognac, gold, and cream tones that dominate the room's palette, makes complexions glow, without making the room so dim that it suggests a singles bar. This was important for a new restaurant in a section of Encore that had evolved into the property's nightlife neighborhood. Andrea's was built in the space once occupied by Switch, which was open to the casino floor and attracted patrons with features such as moving walls that changed while they dined. Lenahan knew immediately that the space should be more open and the dining areas more elevated, since patrons themselves would be a visual feature at Andrea's. "The whole idea was to create a younger, hipper place, a spot for the beautiful people to congregate," says Wynn. "When Switch was designed, there were no nightclubs there," Lenahan explains. "There was a huge porte cochere on the Strip, so when those nightclubs were built, the entire dynamic of that section of the resort changed, and the new restaurant needed to appeal to the clubgoers.
