TV Media Weekly | May 26 - June 1, 2018 Sunday morning | 7 By Andrew Warren TV Media Acting out: Well, summer is just around the corner, but it isn't just a season of hazy days, swel- tering nights and days at the beach. It's also the time of year when the best amateur talent in America is on full display. That's right, it's time for anoth- er season of "America's Got Tal- ent," NBC's hit talent show that celebrates its 13th season start- ing Tuesday, May 29, on NBC. As always, the diversity of talents on display runs the gamut from mundane to extreme, from cheer- worthy to groan-inducing, but, of course, in the end only one act can stand apart from the rest and walk away a winner. This season, the acts may be new, but the host and judges are not. Tyra Banks ("America's Next Top Model") returns for her sec- ond outing hosting the show, holding the audience's meta- phorical hand as she ushers the various hopefuls on stage and chats with them after they've faced the crowd and judges. The judging lineup from last season is also back. Comedian Howie Mandel ("Deal or No Deal") first came aboard the show way back in season 5. For- mer Spice Girls singer and R&B star Mel B joined in season 8, along with model Heidi Klum, and both of them return this sea- son as well, with notorious British tough guy and series creator Si- mon Cowell ("American Idol"), who joined in season 11, round- ing out the judging panel. As always, the excitement gets started with several weeks of au- ditions before moving on to the meat of the competition. There's a lot on the line for the winner: not only does winning what might be the biggest talent contest in the country bring instant fame, but also a whopping $1 million prize. That's a lot of green for anyone, and the country's best amateur talent starts the competition to win it on Tuesday, May 29, on NBC. Love again: Sometimes, the best thing to do when you've had your heart broken is to get back out there in the dating game and keep up the search for true love. You've got to hand it to Becca Ku- frin: she's certainly taking that advice to heart in the new season of "The Bachelorette," premier- ing Monday, May 28, on ABC. The titular bachelorette in each season is usually chosen from among the runners-up from the most recent season of "The Bach- elor," and this time is no excep- tion. In a stunning reversal, bach- 05/27 7 AM 7:30 8 AM 8:30 9 AM 9:30 10 AM 10:30 11 AM 11:30 12 PM 12:30 S1 S2 WTTV 4 Matt Dicken A. Griffith Show A.
