FOR THE Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement Announcement Drugs targeted in weeklong series of crimes Post Staff MILWAUKEE — Three men were indicted in federal court for armed rob- beries in Milwaukee, Jackson and Hartford in recent weeks, U.S. Attorney Matthew Krueger announced Wednesday. Justin Gillis, 30, Amedee Mathew O'Gorman, 28, and Andrew Pein, 31, of Watertown and Reeseville, each have been charged with one count of Hobbs Act rob- bery and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of vio- lence after a home invasion armed rob- bery on South 15th Place in Milwaukee on Feb. 27. The purpose of the robbery was to obtain drugs and drug proceeds, accord- ing to the announcement. Gillis is also charged with committing a robbery of a Kwik Trip in Germantown on March 3 and attempting to rob the Village Mart in Jackson and the Petro Mart in Hartford on March 5, Krueger's office said. If convicted, each man faces up to 20 years in prison on the robbery counts and a minimum mandatory sentence of seven years and up to life in prison on the charge of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. This case is being investigated and prosecuted under the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, aimed at bring- ing together all levels of law enforcement and community resources to reduce vio- lent crime and improve the quality of life in all our neighborhoods. This matter is being investigated by the FBI's Milwaukee Area Violent Crimes Task Force, the Milwaukee Police Department, the Watertown Police Department, the Germantown Police Department, the Jackson Police Department, the Hartford Police Department, the Oconomowoc Police Department, the Jefferson MDEG Unit, the Milwaukee County District Attorney Investigator's Office, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, the Washington County District Attorney's Office, and the Wisconsin State Probation Department — Jefferson County. Krueger said an indictment is merely a charge and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
