The Neal Senior Center will be conducting a continuing series of monthly seminars with each one focusing on a financial issue involving the elderly. Taylor Ledbetter of the NC State Employees Credit Union will be the presenter. The next installment will meet on Thursday, April 12, beginning at 9:30am-10:30am. This series is free of charge. Neal Senior Center Mayberry Day Trip May 1 To: Our Traveling Friends From: Burel and Pam Harris We are pleased to announce that we have planned a trip to Mayberry (Mt. Airy), Andy Griffith's home- town. We will depart from the Neal Senior Center at 7:00 a.m. We will enjoy a 1-1/2 hour guided tour of Mayberry, which includes Floyd's Barber Shop, Wally's Service Station, the Mayberry Jail and Courthouse. We then have lunch at Snappy Lunch, Barney's Cafe or another restaurant of your choice that are within walking distance in the downtown area. There are several small shops to check out while we are there as well. After lunch we then visit Andy Griffith Museum and the Mt. Airy Museum of Regional History. The trip includes transportation, fee for the guide and entrance to both museums. Lunch will be on your own. The price per person was $60.00. Please call Burel or Pam at 704-477-6863 or 704-477-1075. Make checks to Burel Harris. Call soon! May 1st will be here before you know it. Tap Dancing Returns Last year, the Neal Senior Center introduced tap danc- ing as a new activity for our participants. It was very well received and the cen- ter is going to offer it once again! If you weren't able to get in on it the first time, here's your chance to get in on this fun activity. The Neal Senior Center is starting a new class in "Beginning Tap Dancing". Like before, you do NOT have to be an experienced dancer to enroll! The class is open to anyone who is interested in learning and is taught by dance expert Laura Wheeler. The class will be held at the Neal Senior Center, beginning Wednesday, April 11, and continuing until Wednesday, May 16. The class will meet each week from 1PM-2PM. The class is free, but you would need to have your own shoes that would be suitable for this type of dancing. If you happen to own a pair of tap shoes, then please bring them with you. If you do not own a pair, you can still participate since any shoe that has the ability to slide would be acceptable, except for running shoes or tennis shoes.
