Ed Cahill photo Pike Central High School juniors Draven Huff (left) and Mackinzee Key (right) rehearse a scene for the musical "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" on Monday, March 12. Ed Cahill photo male genitals to her. In the affidavit, McClel- lan said eventually Stanton told the girl he would have his daughter invite her to a pizza party and "after his daughter went to bed," they would perform sex acts they had talked about online. Stanton encouraged the decoy to friend his daugh- ter so her mother would think they were friends and told her to delete all of the messages between the two of them. McClellan said Stanton's cellphone number matched one central dispatch had on file for him. Stanton made arrange- ments to pick up the 14-year- old girl decoy at a Pike Ave. address McClellan gave him and continued to describe sexual acts he wanted to per- form with the girl. He even took a picture of a box of con- doms he had purchased and sent it to the decoy. However, in the final mes- sage, he confirmed he would pick her up at 6 p.m., but stated "they could not do the sex thing we planned." McClellan sent Stan- ton a picture of the house to which he was supposed to go. When McClellan ob- served Stanton pull into the driveway, he sent him a mes- sage from the decoy asking if that was him. Stanton re- plied, "yes." Petersburg Police Cpl. Jared Simmons and Pike County Deputy Sheriff Paul Collier pulled into the drive- way behind Stanton's truck and confronted him. His 13-year-old daughter was in the truck and asked what was going on. She said they were there to pickup a friend of hers and gave the name of McClellan's online de- coy. Sgt. McClellan told her that her father was in trou- ble and had to go with the police. The Department of Child Services took custo- dy of Stanton's daughter. According to McClellan's affidavit, when police inter- viewed Stanton, he admit- ted sending the decoy pic- tures of male genitalia, but claimed it wasn't his. Mc- Clellan said Stanton also admitted asking her to com- mit sex acts. However, he de- nied "he was going to have sex with her because he had watched a show last night and changed his mind." Stanton was taken into custody. A Level 4 felony is pun- ishable by two to 12 years in prison. NEWS! Want to share your news with others?
