The LeDuc's bed features drawers for
clothes and even a compartment for tools
underneath. Above the bed, a curtain hides
yet more storage in the top of the tent. And
an ottoman hides towels. "Everyone has
different ways of doing storage," says Tom.
In the living room, a multi-purpose futon
serves as both couch and bed for the LeDuc
sons. "We've been doing the tiny house thing
for 125 years in Ocean Grove," says Tom.
The new kitchen now features a
modern sink and cabinetry. But
with no stove, the LeDucs get
creative with two crockpots, a
microwave, a toaster oven, and
an electric grill.
The Historical Society of Ocean Grove
holds tours of tent interiors every few
years. The last tour was held in 2017.
The 50th Annual House Tour, featuring one
tent and many historic homes, will be held
Friday, August 3, 2018 from 10:30 AM -
4:30 PM. For more information, visit the
Historical Society Museum at 50 Pitman
Avenue, call (732) 774-1869, or visit
www.oceangrovehistory.org. Special thanks
to the Historical Society and the many ten-
ters who shared their homes and experiences.
