He guided me to follow my passion, which has been beauty and art since I was 1. Why did you want to start your own business? It was always a dream of mine to be a party/event planner. Bringing people together by creating an atmosphere filled with delicious food and beautiful presentations has always brought me so much joy. I was a young child. Make-up artistry combines both of those passions in a way that makes me excited to work each day. When I was in high school, I would sit and study the make-up and clothing in fashion runway shows. I was really fascinated by haute couture shows, like the one I am doing in New York, because they are so dramatic and different. Finding that passion gave me purpose, and I am so excited to start each day because of the happiness that my art brings to my clients and myself. 2. What makes your approach to your job different or unique? Besides the expertise and passion that I bring to skin care and beauty, I put my heart into everything I do and show this individualized level of care to each one of my clients. is personal touch gives something special to everyone who steps through my door. Whether clients are here for a facial, makeover, advice, a lesson or a purchase, it's the personal focus that makes it different. I approach each session like a life-changing piece to someone's story. It doesn't matter if it is a make-up lesson, a wedding, or a runway show, every session I have is a chance to personally enrich someone's life. I also noticed there was an absence of sophisticated, high-quality products to address common questions and struggles I hear from clients every day. e always creative with my cooking ever since I started to do so at a young age. e driving force, or forces for that matter, that encouraged me to go out and open my own catering business were my kids. ey could see the creativity, passion and love that I had for cooking. 2. What makes your business unique? Our clients love that our ideas are fresh! Our team collectively adds creative touch and flair for each of our clients by providing them with a personal touch that is needed to deliver a visually astonishing, unique and "simply delish" menu. Team Evolution is committed to building long-lasting relationships based on personal service and exceptional quality. e relationships that we have built and continue to build, coupled with our quality food, are what have brought us great success. We are not afraid to go out and try something new in order to provide our clientele with an experience that they and their guests won't forget. With that being said, we are excited to announce that we will be offering prepared meals for pick-up for those families who are looking to provide a hot meal amid their busy schedules. You can check out Chef Hope's Facebook page for weekly recipes as well as place your dinner order for pick up. As Evolution Catering continues to grow, we will expand into becoming a full-service catering company so that we will be able to handle all aspects of one's event. It is my desire to help women discover their personal beauty and educate them on how to show it off to the world. 3. What's the most fun or gratifying part of what you do? Happiness is finding success with what you love to do and finding something more important than yourself, and beauty and skin care provides this gratification to me. Each day, I have different things on my schedule that make my job exciting and new. I am dedicated to increasing everyone's level of confidence by making them believe in their own beauty. I can both teach and empower my clients by showing them how just a touch of make-up can change how they perceive themselves or how they are perceived. is profession also allows me to travel to the most beautiful local wedding venues, as well as attend continuing education classes across the world. I find beauty in the special touches of small towns and the architecture of large cities. is part of my job makes each event special and fun and is an amazing gift I get to give myself. Carmina was interviewed by Megan Lesko, owner of Sincerely Us Blog, to answer the questions. 3. What's the most fun or gratifying part of what you do? e most gratifying part of what I do is being able to do what I love with the ones I love. ere is something special about running a small, family- owned business while making old family recipes alongside my husband, mom and siblings, knowing that we are cooking delicious food for clients as I also pass down those recipes to my own kids. Building friendships with our clients and being able to share their life experiences with them—whether it is a birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary or baby shower—bring my team and me so much joy and happiness. Follow my journey beginning March 9 as I run for the 2018 LLS Woman of the Year. HOPE for a CURE is planning several events to raise money to be able to help in the mission to save lives. We look forward to your support!
