The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Polk County High School, Columbus. "We are excited to have this second annual fundraiser event." said Mary Edwards, president of Be A Voice 4 Kids." Because of community support, many families and individuals were educated and encouraged through prevention training and support groups. Cabin Fever happens in the winter, when the days get short and the dark gets long. Folks start feeling restless or lonely and need a chance to feel like part of something fun and meaningful. This fun evening will bring much-needed support to Be A Voice 4 Kids. The mission of Be A Voice 4 Kids is to educate, prevent and heal childhood abuse through spiritual strength, peer support and inspiration. Although created as a fundraiser, Cabin Fever will also bring awareness of child sexual abuse, the need to educate for prevention and to help heal those who have been victimized. School Superintendent Aaron Greene will be the emcee for the evening to show his support for the cause. Many local merchants have offered door prizes and live and silent auction items.
