CEDARBURG — The Family Enrichment Center of Ozaukee will host its fifth annual Gourmet Gala Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ozaukee Pavilion.Included with each reservation are appetizers, gourmet dinner, wine, beer garden and beverages. The 2018 event theme is "Celebrate Community." The gala cultivates the FEC's mission to sustain local nonprofits for a better world. To highlight the event, premier chefs from the area will bring their unique culinary skills to include elegant desserts. Activities include a wine and whiskey pull, a raffle which includes donations from area businesses and a spirited live auction. Last year's live auction items included a suite at Miller Park and a night of hands-on, culinary mastery for 10 guests in the comfort of their home. Tickets are $125 per guest. Family Enrichment Center of Ozaukee to host Gourmet Gala Winter Frolic at the Mequon Nature Preserve, 8200 W. County Line Road, Mequon, will be held Saturday, Feb. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Now in its sixth year, the free event provides indoor and outdoor activities for all ages, such as Alaskan Malamute dog sled demos, tractor and sleigh rides, ice fishing and snowman building (weather dependent), campfires, food, live music, a lumberjack challenge with local nature centers, winter marketplace, kids crafts, Native American dancing and more. Free parking is available at Lemke Park, 10301 W. Donges Bay Road; Spirit Life Church, 9455 N. 76th St.; and River Barn Park, 9808 N. Cedarburg Road.
