But other notable backs likely to get the ball this season are senior Andru chavez and juniors demario ennis and Aaric rico. oFFenSive line offensive linemen are well known for being heavy, but the panthers' offensive line this season is very senior-heavy. Jimmy garcia, Jose Baeza and Arthur Aparicio make up the core of the group — all are seniors. machado thinks they will do well moving from a Wing-t run first style of offense to his spread formations, because they still need to block aggressively. time will tell whether they can make the necessary adjustment after years of learning one offense. linebaCker senior middle linebacker ernie guillen is expected to make a lot of tackles in 2017 if you ask his coaches. machado says that his de- fenses' gap front scheme makes for a linebacker-friendly system that could see him decimate offensive run games. time will tell if machado is right, but one thing is for sure, guillen has the size to do it as a 6-foot, 3-inch tall, 185-pound player. lining him up in the front seven, machado says that he is the leader of the defense. CornerbaCk anD SaFeTy machado is not shy about using his most athletic players on both sides of the ball. mark inman is lining up at free safety this season, and he's played that position before. As a sophomore, inman was in on 73 tackles, 52 of which were on his own, and 14 were for a loss. one player who lines up behind inman at running back on offense will be lining up with him on de- fense. Aaric rico will start at cornerback across from possible quarterback christian duque who has shown flashes at the cornerback position as well. DeFenSive line Anchoring the defensive line will be garrin Arden. After watching the film and holding a week's worth of practice, machado thinks his senior nose tackle is "extremely aggressive." flanking Arden is senior defen- sive end matt Huston who is a force on the edge at 6 feet, 2 inches and 207 pounds. complementing Huston is Austin crabtree who could set the edge himself at 5 feet, 11 inches and 176 pounds.
