And the better rodriguez does, the easier it is for Allen to find his main target in ian Kelly deep down the field. Allen and Kelly hooked up for 6 touchdowns through the air last year, a true complement to Allen's arm strength and Kelly's speed that will give defenses fits all season long. oFFenSive line Preheim is confident in his entire line but believes in the hard working guard Joseph felix and starting center ryan saski. The rest of the line is composed of experienced and sizeable linemen who played a big role in getting the blaz- ers to the semifinals last year. And they aren't expected to miss a beat. linebaCker The Trailblazers have a very experienced linebacking corps this year in Josh summers, ruben weldon, and christian ortiz. golden west will want to rely on their corps while they have them because both summers and weldon are peaking in their senior year and have combined for 239 tackles in 2016, while ortiz had 67 of his own. if there is one particular strength on the team, it is safe to say it lines up behind the defensive line. CornerbaCk anD SaFeTy cornerback has not been a position of concern for Preheim with experi- enced starters like raul cardenas and ian Kelly reassuming their roles. but at the start of summer, Preheim needed to fill his two safety spots. luckily, Tyson sandri has proven to be a worthy free safety, but coaches are now questioning who is a good fit at strong safety. As of the first week of practice they have gonzalo rodriguez penciled in, but they are likely to use that eraser if his offensive production starts to taper off. DeFenSive line Preheim's defensive linemen usually run through a consistent rotation, but one every-down player is senior Zac foley at defensive end. Ac- cording to Preheim, his 6-foot, 4-inch size and quick speed is a unique combination at that position. "he has some size... and some fast twitch fibers to him. he just needs to go out and hit somebody."
