It is hard to believe 2017 is gone and a new year is upon us. We must always look upon the ad- vent of a new year as a time of op- portunity and hope for our future. We must set the tone and make the new year one of personal growth and beneficial changes. at is what will be happening to Diver- sity Rules Magazine as well. As I mentioned in the December issue, there will be a new focus for the magazine emerging. While it will still remain a publication fo- cused on all things queer, it will, however, start to encompass the empowerment of queer individu- als beyond their sexual and gender identity with the premise being that we are humans who just hap- pen to be queer. e magazine will begin to look at topics of interest that empower us as the individuals we are and focus less on the rules and regulations to adhere to so folks won't be offend- ed, and the incessant discussions on letters in the alphabet soup and who feels left out, etc. While these things are important, it is not what being queer is all about. We must dig deeper wihtin ourselves and discover what makes us tick in the context of being an LGBTQ indi- vidual. Where this all will go has yet to be fleshed out but rest as- sured, it will be eventually! As a first foray into this new focus, the January issue's feature interview is with filmmaker J.B. Ghuman, Jr., and his newly recleased film entitled, "kEEp scrEEming." J.B's film is one that sets the viewer on a path to discovering the merkaba! Read the interview to find out what that's all about. Decide to begin to find yourselves! Diversity Rules Magazine PO Box 72 Oneonta, NY 13820 James R.
