One of those words is "home." Po- ets have written about it. There has been an abundance of religious as well as secular songs penned about this familiar place. So, what is it about home that we all hold dear. I know it seems cliché, but a house doesn't make a home. Even though we become attached to certain loca- tions and certain aspects of a house, it is evident that without the people who live there it is only a structure. There is something relational about a home. It is a place where people go to fi nd love and acceptance. A home is a welcomed retreat from the cares and busyness of the world. Home should be a shelter from the storms of life. In the book, "Whatever Happened to Goodbye", Sarah Dessen writes, "Home wasn't a set house, or a sin- gle town on a map. It was wherev- er the people who loved you were, whenever you were together. Not a place, but a moment, and then anoth- er, building on each other like bricks to create a solid shelter that you take with you for your entire life, wherever you may go."
