Based off of economic forecasting and research by IHS Markit, the projections suggest 1,056,000 Wisconsinites will travel 50 miles or more, an increase of nearly 35,000 people. The majority of the Badger State's travelers, more than 945,000, will get around using the road. Another 82,000 Wisconsinites are expected to take to the air. Nationally, AAA said the traffic over the holiday will increase 3.3 percent from 2016 — 1.6 million more will take to the roads, skies, rails, and waterways. "Thanksgiving kicks off the start of what will likely become the busiest holiday season in more than a decade," said Vicky Evans, assistant vice president of Travel Sales Development at AAA. "A strong economy and labor market are gener- ating rising incomes and higher consumer confi- dence." These factors should help fuel consumer spend- ing, she said. ST. FRANCIS — The St. Francis Christmas Parade will take place at 4 p.m. Dec. 2, featuring a nonperishable food collection for St. Fran- cis/Cudahy Project Concern. The route includes the border street of Lunham Avenue, allowing St. Francis and Cudahy residents to watch from their yards. The route starts at Vretenar Park at 4230 S. Kirkwood Ave. and goes west on Lunham Avenue, north on Barland Avenue, east on Thompson Avenue, north on Caulfield Avenue to Howard Avenue, ending at the St. Francis Civic Center, 3400 Howard Ave. Volume 23, issue number 47 The Milwaukee Post (ISSN 1544-1776) is published weekly by Conley Media, Milwaukee County 3397 South Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207 For all departments call: 414-744-6370 News display and advertising FAX: 414-375-7070 Classifieds: 800-762-6219 ext. 5005 Classified Fax: 262-334-6252 For display advertising inquires: 414-744-6370 Barry Richards: Advertising Representative — ext. 13 brichards@conleynet.com Julia LeGath: Advertising Representative — ext. 17 jlegath@conleynet.com Jim Baumgart Advertising Sales Director — 262-513-2621 jbaumgart@conleynet.com For editorial questions: Dan Muckelbauer Editor 262-513-2626 dmuck@conleynet.com POSTMASTER: Send address changes to the Milwaukee Post 3397 S.
