From the and MILWAUKEE COUNTY'S WEEKLY NEWSPAPER Conley News Service WAUKESHA — What if "America's Dairyland" went away? At least on Wisconsin license plates. That's the proposal by state Rep. Scott Allen, R-Waukesha, who would end the 77- year-old slogan with a redesign contest for high school students. The Dairy Business Association opposes the change. Allen said he wasn't surprised by the asso- ciation's response and he would feel the same way if he represented the dairy indus- try. "One of the keys to me is looking at what is the next 60 years going to hold," he said. "What about cranberries? We are the num- ber one cranberry producer ... we aren't telling our complete story by saying America's Dairyland." 'America's Dairyland' could be put out to pasture
