"I'm in a safe house — I'm dry and nothing is damaged," said Milner. "We're in a house that's pretty high off the ground." Milner said she does have co- workers whose houses have been damaged when tornadoes came through the area, but she hasn't seen anything nearly as bad as that. "They made a homemade siphon to drain water from the background back yard to the street here, but that's about it," said Milner. Thursday into Friday is when Hurricane Harvey first began beating down on the Gulf Coast. Milner says she thinks Houston was well prepared. "I know the city was preparing for the storm all last week so we knew it could be pretty bad," said Milner. "We heard about it, but we hoped they were just exaggerating on the news." She said on Sunday night, the water was waist deep, but it's draining pretty well.
