62 | the burg | 09.15 NATIONAl NIghT OuT Neighbors met neighbors during National Night Out, with events taking place throughout greater Harrisburg. e city alone had numerous celebrations in Midtown, Uptown and Allison Hill, with many suburban neighborhoods also setting up grills and bounce houses. In Harrisburg, the Friends of Midtown event at the Broad Street Market attracted a large and diverse crowd, with complimentary food, music and fun activities for kids. In the space of a single city block, attendees experienced everything from Irish step dancing to Chinese Qipao to rap and soul music. For hours, voices and drumbeats resonated off of buildings throughout downtown Harrisburg, and even threatening summer thunderstorms held off until the event was nearly done.
