PASSENGER GROWTH EXPECTED AT AIRPORT

fter five years of shrinking airline ca- pacity and domestic passenger counts at McCarran International Airport, good news appears to be on the horizon. Aviation analysts anticipate growth at Las Vegas' airport over the next five years.
Mike Boyd, chairman of the Ever- green, Colo.-based Boyd Group Interna- tional, expects passenger counts to in- crease by 6.3 percent by 2017 as airlines slowly bump up their domestic capacity. Boyd made his predictions at an avia- tion summit last month in Dallas and anticipates that Las Vegas will be one of the top 10 growth markets among ma- jor airports in the country.
