Born December 22, 1936 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter to the late Arthur Columbus McCraw & Alice Henson McCraw. She worked for United Southern Industries for many years & was a faithful member of Providence United Methodist Church. Pawnease served as a Sunday School Teacher & member of the church choir. She enjoyed music, reading & working on jig-saw puzzles. Family was most important to her & she loved each one dearly. She was a kind & caring lady who loved others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harland Edward Gowan; 4 brothers, Harrill, Paul, John & Hugh McCraw. Those left to cherish her memory include 3 daughters, Rachel Clayton & husband Mike of Forest City, Sandra Walker & husband Sheldon of Forest City & Dwala Hardin & husband Eddie of Ellenboro; 2 sons, Rickey Gowan & wife Debbie of Forest City & Ronnie Gowan & wife Donna of Rutherfordton; 1 sister, Karen Hyder of Mill Spring & 2 broth- ers, Jimmie McCraw & Alma of Rutherfordton & Joe McCraw also of Rutherfordton. She is also survived by 12 grandchil- dren, 13 great-grandchildren, & a host of nieces & nephews. The funeral service was conducted at the Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. David Bradley offi- ciating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations are respectfully requested to the Providence UMC Bldg Fund, 128 ESW Dr., Forest City, NC 28043. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements. MARY ANN RUSS RANDOLPH Mary Ann Russ Randolph, 51, passed away on July 1, 2017. She was born to Jean Bailey Russ and the late Ray Russ on April 6, 1966 in Cleveland County. Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories her two daughters, Stephany Roberts and husband, Mark of Haywood County, NC and Brittany Shelton of Shelby; one sister, Tammy Patterson of Harris; one brother, Tommy Russ of Shelby; two grandchildren. Mary was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Rutherford County. She loved to watch butterflies and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a great mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed. IRENE CASSEL Mrs. Irene Cassel, of Ellenboro, age 61, passed away July 1, 2017. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro. Services are entrust- ed to Robert Morgan Funeral & Cremation Service, LLC of Boiling Springs, NC. JOYCE WALKER ZINK Joyce Walker Zink, 76, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Roy Edmond and Sarah Luna Jenkins Walker. She was a retired nurse, having worked on a cruise ship and in nursing homes. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Jean Walker Daves of Forest City; brother, Charles Hubert Walker of Sandy Mush; sis- ter in law, Linda D. Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Oliver Wendell Holmes, sisters, Lorene Walker Pitchford, Dorothy Walker Arrowood, Shirley Walker, and brother, David Walker. Memorial services were held at Crowe's Mortuary with Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating. Croweʼs Mortuary is assisting the family. JERRY DALE SIMMONS Jerry Dale Simmons, 47, of Forest City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 15, 2017. A native of Chicago Heights, IL, he was the son of the late Audrey Wayne and Shirley Mae Hardin Simmons. Jerry was a mem- ber of Fellowship Holiness Church and a boat builder. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angie Simmons of the home; daughter Kim Rash and hus- band Matt of Forest City; stepdaughter Samantha May and husband Matthew of Spindale; stepson Daniel Crawford of Rutherfordton, and ten grandchildren. ANNIE BELLE KING LOVELACE Annie Belle King Lovelace, 88, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017. Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Clifton King and Bertha Willis King and widow of the late Ralph Odelle Lovelace. She was a seamstress for many years in the textile industry, and was a member of Adaville Baptist Church. Annie loved gardening and working in her flower gardens. She also loved to crochet, read and was a very big support- er of education and higher learning. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Head and husband Ray, of Rutherfordton; a grandson; a granddaughter; a great grandson; a brother, Dock King and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by broth- ers, FA King, JC King and Howard King, and a sister, Pauline Lovelace. The funeral service was held in the Padgett & King Chapel. Interment fol- lowed in the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O.
