"Perfect love casts out fear" (I John 4:18). When we understand something of Christ's love for us as a sinner, we re- spond with love for Christ and that love includes feel- ings and emotions. But emotions come and go, and we must not allow them to mislead us. God loves us whether we feel it or not. Christians who gauge their relationship with Christ by the feelings seldom have a stable spiritual life. What makes the differ- ence? It can be summa- rized in one word: commit- ment. Feelings come and go, but commitment stays. (The same should be true in a marriage). We who have committed our lives to Christ may feel joy, grat- itude, love, and so on. But even when we don't have those feelings, our com- mitment keeps us true to Christ. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. I'm sure you will leave feeling blessed. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Report- er NEW LIBERTY G.B. CHURCH (Coe) 1820 S. Co Rd. 800 S. Oakland City Gary Pancake, Pastor 812-664-4716 Sunday school 9:30 a.m., Faron McLaughlin, Super- intendent, Ryan Edrington, Assistant and Sunday morn- ing worship at 10 :30 a.m. We hope everyone has a blessed week. Rev. Pancake gave a won- derful sermon from a very familiar scripture on Sun- day. The scripture came from Daniel 3:1-18 and was the story of King Nebuchad- nezzar setting up an image to himself. The lesson was about defiance and was there ever a time to be de- fiant. Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego were defi- ant to the king and were go- ing to be thrown into the fi- ery furnace. The key to this lesson is that they said not their will, but God's will be done. This is so true as we pray for those who are sick or fac- ing rough times. God hears our prayers and loves to hear from us, but we must remember that He has rea- sons why things happen that we do not know. God spared the lives of those three men, but we may not always get the answer we want. Re- member, he knows what is best and he knows what plans He has for all of us. July 23, will be Assistant Teacher Sunday and our of- fering will go to the Build- ing Fund. There will be a meeting to set up for Bible School at 6:30 p.m. Bible School, "Maker Fun Factory" will take place July 24-28. A meal will be served from 6 -6:30 p.m. with our school from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. Make plans now to help and bring your kids to attend. Anyone wishing to go can contact any member of our church.
