TV Media Weekly | June 17 - 23, 2017 By Adam Thomlison TV Media Q: Is Daniel Lissing return- ing to "When Calls the Heart"? I didn't see his name in the cast credits for the last two episodes. A: Unfortunately, we don't know yet. Fans know that Daniel Liss- ing's character, steadfast Mount- ie Jack Thornton, left partway through season 4, accepting an indefinite posting in the North. So Elizabeth (Erin Krakow, "Army Wives"), who accepted his wed- ding proposal shortly before he left, spent the final four episodes of the season pining for her ab- sent love. Fans are pining, too, and Liss- ing seems to know it, teasing them a little bit on Twitter. As his departure episode was airing, he wrote: "Just know that I love and appreciate you all #Hearties." #Hearties is the name the show's fans gave themselves on social media, but Hallmark has em- braced it wholeheartedly (if you'll pardon the pun), putting the name on official merchandise and a section of the show's web- site. Though there has been no offi- cial word of his return, it seems fairly likely. He hasn't signed on to appear in anything else, which is usually the catalyst for a lead actor departing a hit show. Q: Can you please let me know what happened to "Chrisley Knows Best"? It's my favorite show, and I watch all the reruns I can. A: You'll have to content your- self with reruns for a little while, but not too long. The fifth season of the hit USA reality show "Chrisley Knows Best" ended in April, but the net- work wasted little time in telling people it would be back. The show's season finale aired April 11, about the same time that the network started airing a 15-sec- ond promo commercial saying that new episodes would return "this fall." Have a question? Hollywood Q&A By Andrew Warren TV Media T he life of a world-famous standup comedian is a life on the road. Con- stantly moving from city to city can't be easy, especially for a committed family man like Jeff Dunham. At the very least, though, the constant city-hop- ping makes for a perfect oppor- tunity to sample some amazing local cuisines. The globally known comedi- an and ventriloquist has hit the road with his wife, Audrey, at his side in the ongoing series, "Incredible Edible America With the Dunhams," which pre- miered just a few weeks ago on Food Network. The series fol- lows the couple on Jeff's latest standup tour, but since this is Food Network, the series is no comedy special: it's a show about food, of course. When Jeff's not performing, he and Audrey check out some of the most incredible meals around, and meet the bold culinary minds behind them. In this week's new episode, which airs Monday, June 19, the happy couple is in Nevada's decadent Sin City. They may have come to Las Vegas for the comedy, but that doesn't mean they can't check out a burger place that claims to offer the most expensive burger in the world — more than $700! They also sit down for one of the big- gest brunches in town, and still somehow find room in their busy schedule — not to men- tion in their stomachs — for an ice cream sundae that's simply monstrous. Dunham is one of the most popular, recognized and suc- cessful comedians in the world. It's not just his comedy that makes him stand out, though: it's his ventriloquism and his unique, politically incorrect ventriloquist "dummies," such as grumpy old guy Walter, and lame superhero Melvin the Su- perhero Guy. But of course, this show is all about the food, not the dum- mies. The couple has already experienced the culinary weird- ness of Austin, enjoyed all sorts of incredible sandwiches in Los Angeles, and is set to check out the chicken in Jeff's hometown of Dallas next week. Jeff Dunham's claim to fame may be his incredible skills as a ventriloquist and his biting sense of humor, but hey, even comedians need to eat when they're on the road.
