Mitchell International Airport. For nearly a decade, bits and pieces have come together for Aerotropolis Milwaukee, an area that includes much of the coun- ty's far southern corridor because of its proximity to the airport. Officials intricately involved in the planning process gave a pres- entation this week with some of the details surrounding the local Aerotropolis proposal, which encompasses portions of the Gateway to Milwaukee Business Improvement District. Although the City of Milwaukee has been taking the lead with the Aerotropolis concep- tual planning, Alderman Terry Witkowski said it is a collabora- tive effort with eight neighboring suburban communities and other governing agencies, such as Milwaukee County.
