PATriCk'S DAy PArADE Harrisburg hosted a chilly, two-day party last month as St. Patrick's Day fell on a Friday, followed the next day by the annual parade. Parade-goers were first treated to the sight of runners finishing up the Lucky Charm 5K/10K, followed by a long line of marchers, bands, floats and dancers throughout downtown. For a few attendees, a pint or two concluded the celebration. is year, the parade was organized by the Harrisburg Downtown Improvement District, which tweaked the parade route and added several new features. SouP & A BoWl Midstaters joined forces last month at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg to help end hunger in our area at the 24th annual Soup & a Bowl, a fundraiser to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Folks enjoyed delicious soups, breads and desserts, while listening to live music and watching pottery-making demonstrations.
