Specific plans for a new loca- tion were not revealed by President and CEO Dennis Kois on Tuesday. MPM had conducted a study to determine the best place for the museum — at its 60-year- old, county-owned location or a new one. MPM did release an announce- ment saying it is "undertaking a staffing restructure to strengthen the financial position of the muse- um and prepare it for changes ahead." The museum will reduce its staff by 15 people, while creat- ing several positions aligned with advancing its scientific mission.
