www.negociosnow.com 8 February 2017 Infielder, Chicago Cubs Javier Baez was one of the key players helping the Chica- go Cubs win the World Series in 2016. He was named a National League Championship Series co-MVP, after hitting .318 with five RBIs, four doubles, and two stolen bases in the series, inclu- ding three hits and three RBIs in Game 5. He shares the title with starter Jon Lester. Baez also left his mark in past series: he hit a solo home run May 8 in the bottom of the 13th inning to lead the Cubs to a 4-3 victory and a four-game sweep of the Washington Nationals. A month later, he hit a grand slam in the 15th inning to lead the Cubs in a win over the Cincinna- ti Reds. In Game 1 of the 2016 Na- tional League Division Series against the San Francisco Giants, Báez hit a solo home run for a 1-0 Cubs victory. It was the first 1-0 win in a playoff game for the Cubs since the 1906 World Se- ries against the Chicago White Sox. In Game 4, Báez drove in Jason Heyward to cap off a four- run rally in the top of the ninth, sending the Cubs to the 2016 National League Championship Series with a 6-5 victory. On October 15, 2016, during the first game of the 2016 Na- tional League Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Baez stole home in the second inning. He is one of only 19 players in baseball history to steal home in a playoff game. Javier Baez, 24 A home run hitter and MVP "E verything I did in my life, it was because of her."
