Electrical Designer and Revit
Administrator, Primera Engineers
Growing up in Little Village,
Louis DeAlba never dreamed
he'd become an electrical de-
signer and work at well-known
engineering firms. As a child,
DeAlba didn't even know what
engineering was. He didn't know
any engineers, but he was able to
grow and succeed in the indus-
try through his hard work.
DeAlba's diligence to his cra-
ft has paid off through his pro-
gression at Primera Engineers
and his participation in various
professional organizations. Most
recently, he was selected as a
2016 recipient of the Consulting-
Specifying Engineers' (CSE) "40
Under 40" Program. CSE is de-
dicated to recognizing the most
talented individuals in the engi-
neering community on a natio-
nal level.
DeAlba is also very active
in the Illuminating Enginee-
ring Society and was awarded
second place in 2015 and a fi-
nalist award in 2013 in the IES
Luminaire Design Competition,
which promotes excellence in
the design of energy-efficient
LED luminaires.
Importantly, DeAlba truly
is a person for others. In 2014
he was selected as the Volun-
teer Service Employee of the
Year at Primera Engineers be-
cause of his leadership role
in nearly all of the company's
social responsibility efforts, in-
cluding serving as house cap-
tain for Rebuilding Together,
leading the company's efforts
with Canstruction, and par-
ticipating in the ACE Mentor
Program. He is most proud of
leading the Francisco Madero
School mentoring program at
Primera because he hopes that
he can encourage more Latinos
to pursue STEM careers.
