Please have your funeral home send us your loved ones' obituaries to events@rutherfordweekly.com ©Community First Media Community First Media As the years of our lives slip away, we must be reminded of what the book of James says about the brevity of our life. He compares it to a mist that appears for a little while and then it vanishes. It is no secret that the older we get the faster life fl ees. Events of yesteryears almost seem like yesterday. Time has a way of passing on without notice, and we wake up one day with more memories than expectations. Due to the vanishing nature of our life, we must seize the moment and make the most of the time we do have left. We must not leave any stone unturned when it comes to our relationships and the opportunities that are set before us. Is there a word you have needed to say to someone, a task that you have planned to fi nish or one of those "I'll get to it" things that you have been putting off? Has it ever dawned on you that today may be the last day you have on earth? It is sad, but we hear to often the words, "I wish I would have." Whatever it may be, a note of thanks, a hug, the gift of forgiveness or a word of encouragement, do it TODAY. Here is a poem that reminds us of the brevity of life: When I was child, I laughed and wept, Time crept; When as a youth, I dreamed and talked, Time walked; When I became a full grown man, Time ran; When older still I daily grew; Time fl ew; Soon I shall be traveling on, Time is gone.
