Send your information to news@vegasinc.com Terry Culp, business manager for the Nevada Industry Excellence program of the Nevada System of Higher Education, has been recognized as Manufacturing Extension Partnership's "Champion of the Year" for 2012. The award recog- nizes Culp's efforts to support, train and advise Nevada businesses on manufacturing and product exporta- tion. Culp has worked with the Nevada Industry Excellence program for 12 years after a career in manufacturing and export markets. Nevada Industry Excel- lence is the Manufacturing Extension Partnership center for Nevada. CULP Vegas PBS Channel 10 General Manager Tom Axtell has been named the 2012 Scott C. Elliott Development Pro- fessional of the Year by the Public Broadcasting Service. Axtell has been credited for the station's implementa- tion of Vegas Virtual Online, a work- force training program that offers online instruction and certification courses to a broad population. He also was recognized for operating a "green" station, which led to the construction and design of Vegas PBS' Educational Technology Campus, the first North American television facility to earn the United States Green Building Council's LEED Gold certification. Axtell has been general manager since 1994. AXTELL Mike Brown-Cestero is a sales engineer in the Las Vegas of- fice of AVDB Group. He is a 12-year veteran of the commer- cial audio-video equipment and installation sales industry. Paul Joncich was hired to be co-anchor of the noon, 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekday newscasts for 8 News NOW. He assumes the role Aug. 13. Joncich also will report for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts. He has previously won Emmy awards, as well as honors from the Associated Press for investigative reporting. He has been an anchor at WOIO-TV in Cleveland for the past six years. Nikkole McCartin is director of the Executive MBA Program at the Lee Business School at UNLV, overseeing all aspects of the program including recruitment, marketing, corporate rela- tions, alumni relations and social media. She is a graduate of the program and previously was marketing director for the Howard Hughes Corp. Christopher Byrd, construction litigation; Jeffrey Steffen, construction/surety; Ann Morgan, employment and labor; Albert Pagni, personal injury defense/medical malpractice; Douglas Cohen, personal injury plaintiff/general; Bradley Schrager, political law; and Michael Buckley, William Davis, Jodi Goodheart and Mark Hawkins, real estate. Buckley, Da- vis and Mowbray were recognized on the "Top 100 Mountain States" list. Davis, Goodheart and Morgan were named to the "Top 50 Women Mountain States" list. Hawkins, Steffen, Toto and Schrager were selected "Rising Stars." Fennemore Craig also was awarded national Gold Standard Certifi- cation by The Women in Law Empowerment Forum for integrating women into leadership positions. It was one of only three firms nationally that met or exceeded all of the group's criteria. William Levy, a shareholder with Mar- quis Aurbach Coffing, has earned an AV pre-eminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Michael Cezar is food and beverage manager at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa. He most recently was food and beverage operations manager at the D. community manager. Matt Borg is business manager of Borg Law Group. He began working for the firm in June. Jasmine Ware and Scott Hill are sup- port specialists and Tomeka White is a customer service representative for NetEffect, a provider of computer and information technology support and consulting services. Ware has worked in the technology field for 10 years, and Hill has worked in technology for eight years. White has worked in the customer service industry for 10 years. BORG John P. Aldrich, of Aldrich Law Firm, Ltd., has completed the "Mediating Disputes" course at Harvard Law School, which teaches about salvaging relation- ships, opening lines of communication, de-escalating conflicts and reaching workable agreements. LEVY Jayne Cayton is vice president and Paula Lea is an associate with Voit Real Estate Services' Las Vegas office. Cayton has more than 12 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. She previously served as a vice president at CBRE, Las Vegas, and was named a top producer there in 2009. Lea special- ized in commercial leasing and sales at CBRE for the past 13 years. In 2010, Lea partnered with Cayton to create the Cayton Office Team. LEA CAYTON JONCICH Alexia Vernon was recently honored by the White House as a "Moxie Maven" for her women's communication and leadership development work. Vernon is the creator of Step Into Your Moxie, a platform for women to develop their public speaking, negotiation, conflict resolution and coaching skills. Jennifer Carleton, a shareholder at the law firm of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, has been appointed to the executive committee of the gaming law section of the State Bar of Nevada. MCCARTIN Several attorneys from Fennemore Craig Jones Vargas were recognized in "Super Lawyers" magazine's annual statewide survey of lawyers. Recognized were Laurel Davis, bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights; Gary Goodheart, John Mowbray, Craig Newman and Maria Toto, business litigation; Joseph Brown, business/corporate; Liz Alzina and Helen Marshall of Bench- mark Association Services have earned the Association Management Specialist designation through the Community Associations Institute. Alzina joined Benchmark in 2008 as the executive administrator to the president and CEO and has been promoted to the position of vice president. Marshall joined Benchmark in 2010 as a CARLETON Roy Fritz, Jeff Berg and Mica Berg are agents at Sun Commercial Real Estate. Collectively, they have more than 30 years of real estate experience. Fritz previously worked at Calvary Capital, a private equity firm. Jeff Berg is a partner at the Berg Investment Group and previously worked for Colliers International. ALDRICH Gina Schneider is re- gional manager and Cynthia Tai is direc- tor of customer care for RMI Management. Schneider joined RMI in 2008 and most recently served as an on-site general manager for local associations. Tai has been with RMI since 2009 and most recently was the company's customer care center manager. SCHNEIDER TAI Marsha Timson is director of leasing and design for the Las Vegas Design Center. She previously managed marketing and operations for real estate companies in Ruidoso, N.M., and consulted for organizations including apparelpages.com, Fashion District Dallas and the Fashion Industry Gallery in Dallas.
