No, not in the romantic sense, but in the sense that these two childhood best friends appear to have the Mi- das touch, especially when work- ing together. The pair has a shared Oscar for writing "Good Will Hunt- ing" (1997) and four shared Emmy nominations for their series "Proj- ect Greenlight," as well as a bur- geoning production company, Pearl Street Films, that has a slate of highly anticipated projects lined up. One such project is the new sci- fi thriller "Incorporated," Pearl Street Films's first foray into televi- sion. Picked up by Syfy back in Feb- ruary, the series is set in a dystopi- an near-future where the govern- ments have fallen and corpora- tions have taken seemingly unlim- ited control over society. "Incorpo- rated" premieres Wednesday, Nov. 30, on Syfy. Over the course of 13 episodes, "Incorporated" introduces us to this uncomfortably realistic and troublingly plausible world where the "Haves" and "Have Nots" are split into an affluent Green Zone for the one-percenters and a pov- erty-stricken Red Zone for every- one else, respectively. The all-pow- erful corporations have imposed this divide, and have also created laws — with disobedience often punishable by death — to enforce their will. While it is all a work of fiction, one of the show's stars says if we in the real world aren't care- ful, we could be heading down a similar path of divisiveness. "All those things we're headed to, in my estimation. It reads very real for me," Dennis Haysbert ("24") said at the Television Critics Association press tour in August. "Even though it's not quite there yet, a few misplaced politicians and some other crazy things hap- pening in the world ... will put us there. I have children, so I'm con- stantly worrying about the world they are going to inherit. Intoler- ance of people, against other peo- ple, is growing. ... This had been going on for years, and what we are doing now is pulling back the veil." Thankfully, it is still fiction right now, and the premise proves to be an intriguing one. Ben Larson (Sean Teale, "Reign") is living the high life in the Green Zone — he's got a beautiful home, a loving wife (Allison Miller, "Terra Nova") and is quickly ascending in one of the most influential companies in the world, Spiga Biotech.
