FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT An area attraction An area attraction Nice little family place out in the country Nice little family place out in the country The Save A Life Golf Classic held September 24, at River Bend Golf Course was a huge success as some 110, or so, organ recip- ients, organ donors, organ donor families, patients on the "waiting list", volunteers, sponsors and golfers came together to have fun, cre- ate more awareness about organ donation and celebrate the new life that comes from organ donation. We want to thank Phil Wallace, Club Manager, for providing an outstanding venue. Everyone had a nice time playing, combined with a fabulous lunch provided by HomePlace Restaurant and breakfast provided by Chick-fi l-a. Thank you Carolina Premium Beverage and Sun Drop for providing the refreshments. With strong annual sponsors like Laughlin Furniture, Carolina Fire, Carolina Federal, Carol Hartis of Edward Jones Investment, Red Ventures, and LifeNet Health, and many others, it was a special day. And special thanks to Shelby Shopper & Info for the front page article and Cleve- land County Community College for allowing us to educate folks about organ donation on their "Talk of the Town" community service broadcast shown many times by Time Warner. If you are not an organ donor, please sign up. Each donor can save up to eight lives. If you have any questions about organ donation, please call Save A Life Group at 704-699-3046 or LifeShare Of The Carolinas, the organ procurement organization, at 704-512-3303. Visit our website at www.SaveALifeGroup.org. If you would like to join in our efforts to increase donor registration so we can save more patients, or be a part of next years' event, please call Steve Granger at 704-692-5723 or Holly Howell at 980-229-8079.
