TV Media Weekly|June 30 - July 6, 2012 Cooking this week|3 50% - 80% OFF! (Regular Retail - Ladies Apparel) Red, white and Food: Back-to-back encores dominate Fourth of July lineup TV Media W to enjoy on a little well-deserved rest and relaxation. And, not unlike Memorial Day,TV line- ups that day are catering to those who might be opting to stay in or who can't make it out to some of the festivities. NBC is offering coverage of the "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks"in New York while CBS is in Boston with its coverage of the Boston Pops celebration. For those looking for a little less fanfare,TCM's film lineup features patriots from the American Revo- lutionary while AMC has patriots from a different war — one that is both inter- galactic and fictional but every bit as patri- otic — in "Independence Day." Elsewhere, marathons are a popular op- tion for many station programmers, and the Food Network is no exception — it has lined up three full days of marathons lead- ing into the weekend. The action kicks off on Independence Day, with seven full hours of the ever-pop- ular "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." Guy Fieri's cross-country road trip includes a few stops along the historic Route 66 in two episodes that follow him from Chica- go to Arizona, as he samples chicken-fried ahi tuna and homemade jagerschnitzel. The day then wraps up with back-to-back episodes of Robert Irvine's "Restaurant: Impossible."
