Lovers of suds and sows flocked to the annual Bacon &
Brew Ha-Ha, a celebration of home brews and inventive
cuisine. Experiments could be found in both liquid and
solid form as amateur beer chemists and home kitchen
chefs served up a wide variety of creations. Bacon-
based appetizers, entrees and desserts? Sure, why not?
e Abbey Bar at Appalachian Brewing Co. hosted the
annual charitable event, which raises money for Elliot's
New Wheels.

Hot licks and cool grooves resonated throughout
greater Harrisburg last month during the 36th annual
Central PA Jazz Festival. ere was something for
every jazz-lover, including a jazz party at River City
Blues Club, a riverboat cruise on the Pride and a jazz
picnic. ere also were workshops, social opportunities
and numerous concerts. e Central PA Friends of
Jazz hosts the much-loved celebration, which grooves
into Harrisburg every August.
