each month, a procession of wonderful
people stops by our office.
there's Don and Keith, Arlene and Vince,
and, depending on the month, several
others.
they come by to pick up bundles of
the most recent issue of theburg and
distribute them to their communities.
Now, they don't have to do this. theburg
has its own crack team of delivery folks
(seriously, they're the best) who swarm
greater harrisburg every month to
distribute to more than 400 locations—
and we're always happy to add more
places to the list.
however, they prefer to make the special
trip so they can get theburg into the
hands of specific people—their own
neighbors, church members, relatives,
friends, etc.
So, every month, I look forward to these
visitors, both because I like chatting with
them and because, as editor, I get a warm
feeling that they think so highly of what
we do that they make certain that their
people read theburg. that lets me know
that, while we may not perfect, we're
doing something right that is connecting
with many folks in this community.
our July issue should connect with
anyone who likes a little food and drink,
maybe an outdoor outing, some culture,
a spot of local history—and dogs and
cats. It's our annual "pet issue," which
you may have already deduced from
our cover. We often have a pet story in
a regular issue of theburg, but, once
a year, take a deeper dive, as our furry
companions are such a big part of life
here in central PA.
hey, it's July. Summer's here, the grill is
hot, and the drinks are cold. have fun!
