WINe FeST
ousands of people carried their lawn chairs, blankets
and picnic baskets into Fort Hunter last month for
Dauphin County's annual Music and Wine Festival.
e two-day event featured both local and nationally
known musicians, with an emphasis on jazz, blues
and funk. PA wineries set up tents to feature their
products, offering tastings to sample and enjoy. Guests
received festival wine glasses to take home, which will
remind everyone of the fun until next year.
OuTdOOR FILMS
Midtown Cinema's Outdoor Film series kicked off
in musical style last month, as neighbors and families
crowded into the parking lot at Reily and Green streets
to sing along with "Grease." e strains of "Greased
Lightnin'" and "Beauty School Dropout" could be heard
for blocks, the party atmosphere aided by stunning early-
summer weather and a dose of courage from Zeroday
Brewing Co. e band Rivers opened the evening, giving
everyone a chance to hear the professionals play before
the happy amateurs took over.
