Please have your funeral home send us your loved ones' obituaries to events@rutherfordweekly.com ©Community First Media Community First Media It is amazing that we plan on everything else but dying. We make arrangements to go on vacation, see a beautician, plan for weddings and even to get our yard work done, but we often fail to make plans for the only event that is for sure going to take place. Pre-planning allows an individual to state his/her preferences about the type of funeral they desire. They are not being morbid, they are simply assuring that there desires are known. People who pre-plan also want to make the funeral arrangement process easier on their family members who are left behind. Preferences may include the place of the funeral, a specifi c musical selection or Scripture reading, the offi ciating clergy, place of burial, or the manner of fi nal disposition. There is also a misunderstanding that a pre-planned funeral must be funded in order to make arrangements complete. This is simply not the case. Many will make their pre-arrangements and specify their preferences without payment of goods or services. There are funding mechanisms available but this is not a requirement. The fact remains that everyone should take into consideration that at some point in time someone, probably a loved one, will be sitting down with a funeral provider to arrange for their services. Making "fi nal arrangements" could be one of the most unselfi sh things that you could do for your family.
