Known as "cMoe," the museum is housed in an historic art-deco building, and is the home of more than 18,000 square feet of galleries and exhibits. "We're hands-on," cMoe marketing and outreach director Ashley McReynolds said. "We encourage kids to touch everything in the museum." This September will mark the museum's 10th anniversary, and McReynolds said they're celebrating with plenty of special events and other surprises throughout 2016. "We have a lot of great things coming here," she said. "There's just so much going on this year." EXHIBITS There's a lot going on every day at the museum, too. On the first floor, guests can enjoy the Freedom Gallery, the Work Smart exhibit and the Quack Factory's Wet Deck: "The focus of the Freedom Gallery is free - dom of expression. Housing a performance space where groups and individuals can bring imaginations and stories to life, the exhibit also features the words of children as they express what freedom means to them. The Freedom Gallery also plays host to Trav - eling Exhibits," the cMoe website says. "Roll up your sleeves and get busy, because Work Smart is a place where you can build things and take things apart! Exhibits give visitors an inside view of the technical and mechanical side of our world. A sampling of the exhibit activities include opportunities to build and race a car, use the backhoe in Moe's Construction Zone, estimate weight and deconstruct a variety of tools and objects. "Bubbling, gurgling, swirling, rising - water flows through this exhibit ( Wet Deck) in amazing ways. Send your duck around the basin or see if it can survive the nearby lock system. Create your own sprouting master - piece out of pipes and if it springs a leak, try again! A space visually connected to the Up- per Deck of the Quack Factory, guests will certainly get wet! " McReynolds recommended guests save the Wet Deck for last, so you don't have to change into dry clothes in the middle of your visit. There's also a new aluminum-themed exhibit on the first floor this year, Aluminate. The second floor contains the Speak Loud, Live Well, and Quack Factory Upper Deck exhibits: "Children naturally gravitate toward the creative arts in their everyday play. The Speak Loud exhibit encourages children, among other activities, to dramatize a familiar story, play instruments from around the world, cre- ate an artistic masterpiece and express their feelings through music, drama and the visual arts," according to the cMoe website. "The Live Well Gallery focuses on provid- ing information to build health literacy and personal responsibility for wellness. Children learn to Eat Well in the Rainbow Bistro, Play Well on the Carrot Climber, Stay Well while learning about their bodies in the Well Check Clinic, be SunSmart on the beach and become roving reporters in the WBWL T V Station." On the Upper Deck of the Quack Factory, cMoe awaits at a
