American Bald Eagles in Wall Township
photograph by Ray Yeager
Although not commonly associated with the Jersey Shore, in recent years, American bald
eagles have returned to Monmouth and Ocean counties and are once again part of the diverse
species of birds found at the shore.
In addition to tall trees, many eagles have taken up residence in cellphone towers. Nests in
towers can be seen on Brick Boulevard in Brick Township and in Union Beach.
This nest is located on Marconi Road in Wall Township, opposite the InfoAge Science/History
Learning Center and Museum (the former Camp Evans Base, a National Historic Landmark).
This bonded pair have nested here over the last few years, and the nest has one baby eaglet this
year, still not fledged.
Ray Yeager's photography is inspired by the beauty of nature, focusing on wildlife, the ocean, and the night skies. While
growing up, he vacationed at many of the beach towns along the Jersey Shore and developed a love for the coastal landscape.
Many of his works capture the natural beauty of the local beaches, state parks, and star filled skies.
His work can be seen and purchased at Flying Saucers in Asbury Park, Everybody's General Store in Point Pleasant
Beach, and OPI Gallery in Sea Girt. For prints and more information, visit www.rtyphotography.com or www.facebook.com/
