April 20, 2016 Ozaukee Guide Extra Value Songwriting Workshop The Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series will present a songwriting workshop presented by Red House Records recording artist Cliff Eberhardt from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Unitarian Church North, 13800 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon. Eberhardt has been writing songs and touring for 30 years. In addition, he regularly teaches at prestigious songwriting camps all over the United States. He's had cuts by folk artists Shawn Colvin, Richie Havens, pop band Erasure, Buffy St. Marie, Russ Taff, folk superstar band "Cry, Cry, Cry" (Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky) and more, and signed a publishing deal with Cherry Lane Music (via John Denver) in 1992. Tickets to attend the workshop are $30 per person; to attend the workshop and a concert at 7:30 p.m., tickets are $35 per person. The workshop is limited to 10 students. Students should bring a song they are working on, not one they have recorded or even performed in public; he will discuss how to edit a song musically and lyrically to make the song stronger and ready to perform.
